Gathering in Light Goes ‘Subversive’

My buddy, Chris, over at Glued Ideas has created a glorious theme called “subtle” free for all wordpress users. Built into Subtle is an easy way to switch styles, to show the potential of this feature (and because he likes me) he powered out a style all my own called “subversive” (but you can use it too). Named after one of my favorite topics of discussion as you all well know. In the next week or so we will be adding logos, customizing it some more and what not so bear with me.

The change of scenery may take some getting used for those of you who frequent my site – don’t worry change is good.

Just a quick tip though all my articles will run down the center here and my more “bloggy” entries will appear in the sidebar.

I will also be launching a couple other new features to gathering in light next week so stay tuned and prepare yourself…

  1. Give me back the old blog or I’ll key your hummer, I mean your blog. LOL!

This is okay but I thought the other format had a more serious, custom look to it. While nicely done it smacks of template work.

Plus its way to bright when I’m working at night.
Call me old fashioned but I liked it when a Quaker kept his blog ready, steady and didn’t go for the fads. I say but the sizzle but in the steak. This dog won’t hunt!

Sorry, but when I’m on a roll I got to go with it. Give me back the old design and write something for me to get all jittery about! Maybe the adult ed subject thats coming up this week? (Did I bait you?)

  2. Steve Thanks for the honest opinion – I too am a big fan of my old theme. But It may be time for a change. We’ll see I still have Shiny sitting in the dock if I need it.

  3. Steve – since I’m the guy who built both (the dark design was originally for a blog network our company runs – dpblogs.com) I have to say thanks! You’re right the Shiny was way more a custom job and that this tends to fit the classic blog mold. I sort of wonder if Wess is just using this until the next iteration of the DPBlogs theme. 🙂

  4. It’s time for another blog party! I don’t feel like I’ve been using WordPress to its fullest potential. After this cool change on your site I feel even more insecure about my own.

  5. Hi Dan – Well I really like siteground the host I use (see link below if you’d like to give me a referral). They provide a domain name, hosting and super-easy WordPress install. I have been really happy with Siteground in the last 6 months. Other hosting places I have heard are good are bluehost and dreamhost.
